About The Resort
Saas-Fee is a wonderful resort village in the Swiss Alps near the Italian border. It is known for its proximity to the Swiss Alps mountains that scale more than 4,000m above sea level. (Known as the 4-thousanders) It is a gateway to more than 100km of pistes for skiing and snowboarding, plus sledding and toboggan runs. The ski area of Saas-Fee is also home to The Mittelallalin Ice Pavilion, which is a frozen grotto carved into the Fee Glacier.
The Saastal region is actually made up of 4 different ski areas, Saas Balen, Saas Grund, Saas Almegell, and Saas-Fee, located at the highest point. All of the regions are interconnected with the local ski bus system, however, Saas-Fee is the only Pedestrian Only resort.
The village of Saastal valley is known as the 'Free Republic of Holidays', which gives one an idea of how the ski resort takes having fun and making people happy very seriously. The number of Après ski bars on the way back from the lifts to the hotel will give a sense of their fun atmosphere and attitude.
