Val D'Isere/Tignes, France
About The Resort
Val d'Isere is a wonderful ski resort in the Alps, offering a vast ski area with great snow and optimal weather for all skiers and snowboarders. Due to its subzero temperatures during some of the day and night, snow is guaranteed.
3 miles from the Italian border, Val d'Isere sits as a commune of the Tarentaise Valley in Southeastern France, nearby the commune of Tignes. Together, they form the area part of the "I' Espace Killy", and what they call the "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World". Multiple major league events have been held there, including the 1992 Winter Olympics, World Cup on a regular basis, World Championships in 2009, and Stage 9 to Briancon in the 2007 Tour de France. In 2019, the Tour de France cyclists had to stop in a village in Val d'Isere due to weather conditions in their next area.
